A visionary with the practical tools to get you to your dream.

My strange gift in life has always been to see the potential in others - either individually or as an organisation - and then to help them achieve that potential. Through a lifetime of doing just this, I’ve learned a great deal about how to show people that vision, and how to guide them towards it (or not. Sometimes they don’t want to go. That’s worth knowing.).

A lot of my own path has felt accidental. I was a working-class kid, the first in my family to go to uni - and somehow I ended up at Cambridge. I had no idea what I wanted to do after uni, and there were no women in my family history who’d had significant business careers - but somehow I ended up a Director of Learning and Development, at 34 and a solo mother, with a department of 300 people and a budget of £25m. I’d dreamed of writing children’s books but … you know, nobody in my family, how’s that a proper job type stuff … and somehow I ended up with a Masters’ in Writing for Children and a best-selling series selling in 22 countries and 11 languages which is heading for TV and film.

I then didn’t expect to have to start again from scratch and to head into a career in communications - but somehow found myself as Strategic Comms lead for a global for-purpose organisation, advocating for some very important people at government level while simultaneously delving into Jung, creativity and the journey of women’s voices through history (with a PhD on the horizon). And then somehow, here I am, understanding that none of it was an accident. It was all part of my journey. My her-ro’s journey, if you like. And with that knowledge comes a need to share and help other people with that same acquired wisdom.

So what does this all mean?

It means I bring together a rare fusion of strategic insight, creative vision and purposeful leadership. With a background spanning HR, Learning & Development leadership and corporate change communications, in environments from highly commercial service organisations to non-profit advocates and NGOs, and including a career in bestselling fiction writing, all across the globe, I help individuals, businesses and charities grow with clarity and impact.

As a strategist and change consultant, I support businesses through transformational growth – offering expert guidance in growth strategy, communications, leadership alignment and purpose-led storytelling. In the non-profit and charity space, I step into ambassadorial and trustee roles, championing causes I believe in and helping organisations engage more deeply, both with their communities and their own values.

I also work in groups with creatives and professionals to unlock their potential – whether that’s starting or finishing a book editing business, launching an inspired new business stream or making a powerful career shift. I’ve got a CEO’s package of generalist skills across vision, strategy, people and impact, combined with an intuitive’s ability to see around a few corners ahead of the game. I help instil confidence in companies for whom growth is needed but scary, and practical processes in those who have the vision but not the structure.

Through my coaching programmes and digital courses, I empower people to meet their creative and professional goals with confidence. My podcast, The Download, inspires others to accept their intuitive and creative nudges and let them lead them on a journey. On a systems level, however, I include important information about knowing your worth, charging properly and knowing when to turn business away.

I continue to collaborate on my own books and creative projects, with various partnerships and co-creations underway around some of my books and series for kids, teens and adults. I also weave insight and imagination into podcasts, courses and story-driven strategy. Everything is anchored in my belief that creativity and clarity – when combined with carefully applied action – are the ultimate tools for meaningful success.
